Dream Home

I got married to my husband this year, and we are both in our 30s. So, we are both set in our careers and have been saving up for a while, so we were looking for a dream home to move into. We wanted something that would suit both of our tastes and be a “wow” home. I wasn’t savvy with real estate and had no idea how the whole process worked or even what area would be best to start looking for our dream home in, so I called the professionals. ATK Team offers real estate services in the Sacramento area and were just what we needed.

They met with us and we told them everything that we wanted. They helped us formulate a budget based on our wants and set out to find us the perfect home. They only showed us things that met our profile and specific wants. They didn’t waste our time trying to convince us to like something that we didn’t actually want.

I couldn’t believe it, but it only took a few weeks for them to find a home that made both of our jaws drop. It was exactly what both of us had been looking for and was the perfect place to start our lives together. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was and how great all of the details were in the home. We are so happy with the service we received from ATK Team and will use them for all of our real estate needs in the future.

ATK Team also specializes in Real Estate in Antelope.

A Property Management Company Instead of a Headache

Hiring a property management company like Vienna Property Management Roseville, Rocklin, Granite Bay, Lincoln, and Folsom seemed like a necessarily evil to me. I didn’t want to have to pay someone to do something that I could do, but it came to a point that I couldn’t manage everything on my own anymore. And things were becoming terribly inefficient so it was about time that I hired a company to manage all of it for me.

After a year and a half of managing my various properties on my own, I finally decided that I would enlist the services of a property management company. I found Vienna Property Management through another friend who owns several commercial buildings in downtown Sacramento. He also tried to manage his properties on his own for as long as he could before hiring a property management company to do it for him.
He recommended Vienna Property Management because he said that experience was probably the most important factor in hiring a property management company. Because, really, the reason you are hiring them is because you don’t have the time and resources to do it yourself. When you hire a company with experience like Vienna, you are hiring someone who knows better than you do. Otherwise, it’s just a waste of money.
After having worked with Vienna Property Management Company, I will never do it on my own again. Now that I have a property management company I can trust, I will always use one. And specifically, I will always use Vienna Property Management because I know that they take my investments seriously so that I don’t have to stress out about it. It’s really made a huge difference in the way I do business and the way I even conduct my personal life.

Our Forever Home’s New Kitchen

My husband and I have lived in the same house in Folsom since we got married, and we plan to stay in the same house for forever. Now that all the kids were out of the house, we were looking to do some remodeling, starting with the kitchen. It was outdated and long overdue for a remodel. We had heard about Premier Remodeling & Construction of Folsom, Roseville, El Dorado Hills, and Sacramento, and we knew they were the best people in the Folsom area for the job. Getting your kitchen remodeled, or any home remodeling project for that matter, it requires a lot of trust in the company. You are letting them come into your home and trusting them to do a great job. That’s why we chose Premier.

We loved all of the options they provided and they had everything we had been looking for. We had an overall look we were aiming for, and they were incredibly helpful at helping us choose what would make that overall picture a reality. They were very informative about all of the different products that they offer and what will last the longest over time. As for the installation, they worked quickly and efficiently to get the job done as fast as possible. Their craftsmanship is as professional as they come, and everything ended up looking even better than we had dreamed. Not to mention we got a great deal because of their competitive prices!

Overall, we couldn’t have chosen a better company. We absolutely love our new kitchen and will be using Premier again as we continue remodeling the rest of our home. They were a pleasure to work with and are truly the best in the business. We couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to show our new kitchen off to all of our family and friends and recommend Premier to them!

Our No-Problem Nanny

My husband just got a new job and is working a lot more than he had been in the past. On top of my workload, taking care of the kids was starting to be too much and we needed help. I knew about A Nanny on the Net from a friend who had used them in the past for nanny services in the San Francisco area, so I looked them up. Their website was very informative and I was able to apply for a nanny right online. It was so easy!

They found out every detail of what we were looking for and worked to match us up with a nanny that met our criteria. Once they found an ideal match, my husband and I met with the prospect to see if we meshed. When we found our nanny we were ecstatic. All of the nannies who work with A Nanny on the Net have at least 3 years experience, and ours had 8! You could tell right when you met her that she was just a kind, caring person and was meant to be a nanny.

Since we’ve hired our new nanny things have been great. I’m able to get a lot more done and don’t have to worry about my kids when I’m not there with them. I always know they are in good hands. I trust and respect our nanny and she has been amazing with the kids. They love her and she has become a part of our family. We couldn’t be happier with the service we received from a Nanny on the Net and will use them for any future nanny needs we may have!

I Can Bathe On My Own Again

Since my husband passed away last year, I’ve had a hard time getting around the house on my own. Showering has been especially difficult, and I wasn’t sure what my options were. I didn’t want to move out of my home but wasn’t able to shower on my own anymore. Then my daughter found out about walk-in tubs offered by Premier Remodeling.

I was excited for the opportunity of independence this would bring me. I didn’t like making people go out of their way to help me with things, it’s just that my arthritis didn’t allow me to be as flexible or mobile as I once was. A walk-in tub sounded like just the thing I needed to get my independence and happiness back!

Premier was great to work with. They talked my daughter and I through everything and even let us pick out our own custom tile that would go around the tub. I was excited for how great it was going to look in my bathroom. With a walk-in tub I’ll be able to sit down while I take a bath. The seal on the door is guaranteed to be leak-proof, so I didn’t have to worry about having problems. It also drains extremely fast, without any extra plumbing needing to be installed. It was the right option for me and I can’t wait to try out my new tub!

Sharing Old Memories and Making New Ones at Old Sugar Mill

The Rendez-vous winery, known for its great wine tasting Sacramento, is located in the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, California and is home to several award-winning wines in the region. This weekend I decided to pay them and the rest of the wineries at Old Sugar Mill a visit for my fifth wedding anniversary.

This location also has a special significance because it is where we got married five years ago. It was really special to be able to go back to the place we got married because we hadn’t been there since our wedding day! As we were driving to the Old Sugar Mill, all of the memories of that day flooded back. It was nice to be with my husband this time because the last time I made this drive, we were both in separate cars, trying not to be seen by one another. We also got a chance to share with each other our thoughts on the way to the wedding venue on our wedding day.

When we finally arrived to the site, I immediately started crying. It was just really overwhelming to be back there, remembering the great time we had with our family and friends. My husband let me take it all in for a while, but he knew better than to let me stay there too long—it was time for some celebratory wine tasting in Sacramento!

The first place we stopped to taste at was called Rendez-vous Winery. I thought this was special because our wedding was Parisian-themed.  We wanted our wedding to reflect a feeling of being in Paris because that’s where we met eight years ago when we were both studying abroad. So of course, Rendez-vous Winery caught my eye right away.

When we walked in, we were greeted by the winemaker himself, who was exceptionally helpful when teaching us about each of the wines we were tasting because he was the one who made them. He told us all about varietals and what we should be tasting while we were sampling each of the wines. It was really special to be able to get such a personal experience with him there—I feel like it was really unique. He also let us sample some of the olive oil and balsamic vinegar that he makes too.

It was fascinating to get such a personal experience because the winemaker was there to tell us exactly what to expect and tell us a story behind what we were drinking. We also got a chance to share our love story with him as we got to talking and before we left, he wished us a lifetime of happiness.

We had such an amazing day at Old Sugar Mill in Sacramento and Clarksburg, reliving our wedding day and making some new memories to.

What a lovely Rendez-vous!

Renez-vous Winery in Sacramento CAMy husband and I have a tradition of visiting a different winery every month as a way to spend time together away from our hometown of Stockton. A much as we enjoy the community we live in, travel has remained very important to both of us. After 20 years of marriage, we thought we had been to every winery in the Northern California region. We definitely return to our favorites but we are always looking for something new. We’ve been hearing about The Old Sugar Mill for a while now and finally decided to give it a try.

The drive was beautiful and the Old Sugar Mill was perfectly situated among scenic vineyards and open space we had no idea existed 20 minutes outside of Sacramento. We also had the luck of going when the weather was perfect—we packed a picnic. We spent about an hour just wandering the premises and spent the rest of the time wine tasting. We enjoyed some of the wineries we had already heard about (Todd Taylor and Carvahlo, but we were pleasantly surprised by a winery we hadn’t heard of before.

The winery we were pleasantly surprised about was called Rendez-vous Winery and sold mostly white wines. My husband generally prefers red to white, and I usually prefer whites to reds, but both of us loved the wines we tasted at Rendez-vous Winery. Apparently, though Rendez-vous Winery is new to the Northern California scene, one of its owners has been making wine for over thirty years and has won various awards in the state.

Our favorite wine was the Rendez-blanc, which was the perfect white wine for me. It had notes of pear and honey and I couldn’t wait to enjoy a glass of it a lunchtime. We ended up trying several other wines, including a few reds, but we both preferred the Rendez-blanc. Usually, when we go to wineries, we pick out a bottle to share that same day, and another two bottles to bring home to enjoy later. And usually, we chose three different wines. This time, we bought three bottles of the Rendez-vous.

We had such a lovely day at the Old Sugar Mill and with Rendez-vous Winery we will most certainly return to enjoy next year’s selections as well. My husband and I joked that we would have to try extra hard to make sure we didn’t repeat Old Sugar Mill until next year. We agreed to consider it if we promised each other we would by three different wines this time. What a great day spent with great company and great wine!

Worth the Wait: My New Countertops

Countertop Designs main office in SacramentoAfter several years of contemplating redesigning our kitchen, my husband and I finally decided to go through with it once we had saved enough money. We planned to install new countertops, redo the cabinetry and get new hardwood in the kitchen. Although I had hoped we would start the remodel process sooner, an added benefit to waiting was that many of our friends completed their own remodel projects in the meantime. Of course I was slightly jealous at the time, but it served as a way for me to watch and learn from others who would complete similar remodel projects as we would. In watching them, I gleaned valuable information on how to renovate my home without any of the stress my friends experienced.

Though many of my friends lived in Sacramento, my home was located in Rocklin. Though I wanted to support a local company for most of the improvements we had planned, I knew that at least my countertops would be done in Sacramento merely based on the finished product of one of my friend’s homes. When I went to her house a few weeks after the remodel not only did I love the design of her countertops, I also loved that the project turnaround was great as well. I had only been to her house a week prior—the countertop company had only taken a week to complete them from start to finish. That’s when I knew that Countertop Designs, Inc. was going to be doing my countertops, even if they weren’t located in Rocklin.

My first meeting with Countertop Designs was informative as well as engaging. I went to their massive showroom in Sacramento and got a chance to ask all of the questions I could possible have—and I had a lot. After seeing the trouble some of my friends went through to redesign their kitchens, I didn’t want to miss a detail. Luckily, they were willing to spend as much time with me as I needed to decide which material and brand I should go with to install in my kitchen. They were incredible patient with me as I must have looked at every single sample in the warehouse.

Just a week later, I had set up for them to install the beautiful granite countertops I had chosen. I was surprised with how fast and easy the process was, especially as compared with some of my other friends. I appreciated that Countertop Designs could complete most of their work in the warehouse, rather than in my home so I had full use of my kitchen for longer. And even when they were in my home installing the product, I never felt that I was in the way or that my life was in any way being interrupted.

Lastly, I was so happy with the final product! I can honestly say that my countertops by Countertop Designs was worth the wait!

Creating the Illusion of Space with Bay and Bow Windows

bay windowsWhen looking for ways to improve your home without making any drastic changes or remodeling, many homeowners choose to install bay or bow windows to create the illusion of space within a room. They add beauty to both the interior and exterior of the home—the perfect way to create dimension and charm without spending a fortune.

D&D Windows of Sacramento, Elk Grove and Roseville describes bay and bow windows as types of windows that protrude from the outside of the house, allowing sunlight to enter the home from more window space. Bay and bow windows have essentially the same effect, with some slight variations. Whereas bow windows are made up of multiple panes (five or six, usually), bay windows only have three. In most cases, the windows making up a bow window are equal in size, and therefore create a smoother, rounder look to the room. Bay windows, on the other hand, are made up of two smaller windows that protrude from the wall and are connected by a central window. This central window is usually larger, and the two beside it are angled outward toward the house.

Depending on your needs for the room, there are a few things to consider before choosing whether a bow or bay window is right for your home. While bay windows may open to allow circulation, bow windows have fixed panes. So if you install windows in a space that you want to allow more circulation, a bay window may be a better option. However, as long as you have other windows in the room, a bow window is still a great addition to any room.

Bay and bow windows allow for a unique view of the outside of the home while also letting plenty of light in to open up a room.  Both types of windows are excellent for kitchens and living spaces, where the windows give the effect of the exterior environment being an extension of the home. Bow and bay windows are also popular in dining areas, giving you a lovely view while enjoying a meal.

Adding new windows to a room in your home adds style and flair without subtracting too much from your wallet. Bay and bow windows can create the illusion of space and enliven and rejuvenate your home.
